|
| | | | | | | | Background | In accordance with a budget proviso, recruitment for vacant staff positions must be approved by the Board of Health during the 2020 Budget year.
An environmental health specialist in our food safety program has submitted his resignation notice effective March 20, 2020. The attached position description describes the activities the incumbent employee performs within the program.
The current position is budgeted at $86,278 (salary + benefits). The recently resigned employee was in the middle of the pay scale so a new employee may result in a minor savings to the budget. |
|
| | | | | | | | Board Authority | Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget. In accordance with Resolution 18-27, no hiring of additional employees is allowed without the review and approval of the Executive Committee and the Board of Health. |

| | | | | | | | Recommended Motion | MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to approve filling a budgeted, vacant position for a 1.0 FTE environmental health specialist in the food safety program. |
