Snohomish Health District provides Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) services to detect and prevent early childhood dental decay by engaging dentists in seeing birth to six-year-old Medicaid- eligible children and engaging in outreach and case management. 

The current amendment amount is $86,000 for two years, for a new maximum contract total of $172,000. Staff FTE is assigned to this program and no additional or new staffing is required to perform the contract duties. 

The contract (Exhibit A) is due for renewal on July 1, 2020. The HCA forwarded the contract amendment to the District on June 25, 2020, missing the opportunity to send it to Board committees first. Upon signature, the contract will be effective from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2022.

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health retains contract authority for non-legal services greater than $50,000/year or $100,000/total contract.

MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to sign contract amendment #2 with Health Care Authority for Access to Baby and Child Dentistry services, effective July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2022.
