In July 2019 the Board approved a two-year contract with the Department of Ecology to perform activities related to Ecology’s Local Source Control (LSC) program. The contract award for the two-year period is $504,634.13.
LSC staff provide hands-on assistance and regulatory advice to help small businesses identify and resolve possible causes of pollution. Participation by businesses is completely voluntary in nature. The Health District has provided LSC services for approximately ten years.
The Health District is currently unable to fully utilize the funds in the agreement due to staff reassignments related to COVID-19 activities. Ecology is proposing to reduce the contract funds available by the amount the District has “underspent” the contract thus far. The reduction is approximately 16%. There is a corresponding decrease in the deliverables the Health District is responsible for providing.
The total compensation is decreased by $80,741.45, from $504,634.13 to $423,892.68.
