Authorize the Administrative Officer to sign Amendment #16 to the Department of Health consolidated contract for 2018-2020 (SR 20-064; K. Curtis)

Background

As part of the State’s consolidated contract, the Washington State Department of Health, has awarded the Health District the following funds:

 

  • Commercial Tobacco Prevention Program $156,433. These funds are to be used for tobacco and vapor product prevention and control activities. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • ELC COVID-19 $746, 488. These funds are to be used for COVID-19 case investigations and contact tracing activities. This money is CARES Act funding coming through the Department of Health. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021. This funding allocation is new to SHD.

  • Infectious Disease Prevention Section $181,968. These funds are to be used to provide infectious disease (HIV, STD and Adult Viral Hepatitis) prevention services. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. The assumption from past years is that funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Office of Immunization & Child Profile – Perinatal Hepatitis B $10,750. These funds are to be used to conduct activities around perinatal hepatitis B. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020.

  • Promotion of Immunizations to improve vaccination rates $22,575. These funds are to be used to conduct activities to improve immunization coverage rates. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 2020.

  • Office of Immunization & Child Profile – Regional Representatives $27,234. These funds are to be used to conduct required Childhood Vaccine Program activities within the five-county region (Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and San Juan Counties). The funding period is July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020.

 
Board Authority

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget.

 
Recommended Motion

MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to sign Amendment #16 to the Department of Health consolidated contract for 2018-2020.
