Authorize the Administrative Officer to execute Amendment #17 to the Consolidated Contract (SR 20-093; K. Curtis)

Background

As part of the State’s consolidated contract, the Washington State Department of Health, has awarded the Health District the following funds:

 

  • Commercial Tobacco Prevention Program $18,886. These funds are to be used for tobacco and vapor product prevention and control activities. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Box-in-the-virus (BITV)- COVID CARES allocation $1,107,701 and FEMA COVID allocation $3,323,103. These funds are to be used for case investigation, contact tracing, testing, infection prevention, and community education. The funding period is July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Assumption is funding will be carried over into 2021.

  • Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response $321,191 and Cities Readiness (medical countermeasures) $79,242. These funds are to be used for preparedness activities at the District. Funding period runs July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Foundational Public Health services $326,184. These funds are for use for any communicable disease. New this funding period are funds specifically allocated to Hepatitis C work. Funding period runs July 1, 2020, through Dec 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Injury & Violence prevention overdose data to action $150,000. These funds are for use as a part of Snohomish County’s Opioid Response Multi-Agency Coordination efforts. Funding period runs July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Vaccine Hesitancy in Special Populations $21,420. These funds are to increase vaccination rates among the Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking populations within Snohomish County. Funding period runs July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

  • Enhanced Influenza Coverage project $22,575. These funds are to increase influenza vaccination rates in Snohomish County. Funding period runs July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020. Funds not spent will be carried over into 2021.

 

The total amount added through this amendment is $5,370,302. Total consideration is $18,611,611

 
Board Authority

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget.

 
Recommended Motion

MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to execute Amendment #17 to the Consolidated Contract.
