| | | | | | | | Background | As part of the State’s consolidated contract, the Washington State Department of Health has awarded the Health District the following funds:
- Commercial Tobacco Prevention Program
- Added $56,259 for youth tobacco vapor products with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- Added $37,772 for tobacco-vape prevention with a funding period of April 29, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- These funding streams are used in our Healthy Communities program to help reduce commercial tobacco-related disparities, prevent commercial tobacco use among youth and young adults, and promote tobacco cessation.
- COVID-19 Coordinated Response
- Added $2,860,603 for COVID-19 vaccines with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- Any unspent funds will be extended through June 30, 2022
- Majority of the funding is allocated for vaccine delivery in the community either by LHJ or through partnerships
- Updated due dates for some deliverables
- Infectious Disease Prevention Section
- Added $60,032 for STD disease control with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- Added $34,560 for STD prevention with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- Added $55,331 for HIV prevention with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- Added $16,329 for viral hepatitis surveillance with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- These funds are used for our work to prevent and treat STDs in the county and to identify those who have hepatitis C and help get them testing and connected to a healthcare provider for treatment
- Office of Immunization & Child Profile Perinatal Hepatitis B
- Added $21,500 for perinatal hep B work with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- These funds are used for our work with mothers who are hep B positive at the time of delivery of their babies; our public health nurse ensures the baby is treated appropriately for Hep B infection
- Office of Immunization & Child Profile Regional Representatives
- Added $74,468 for vaccine for children provider visits with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- These funds are used in our vaccine preventable disease program to conduct provider site visits in our five-county region
- Recreational Shellfish Activities
- Added $4,000 for biotoxin monitoring with a funding period of July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
- These funds are used to test for biotoxins within shellfish in the county
- Zoonotic Disease Program
- Added $3,000 for surveillance of vector mosquitos in the county with a funding period of June 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021
The total amount added through this amendment is $378,967. Total consideration is $36,253,565. |
