Background

The Health Care Authority provides funding to the Health District to oversee the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) program. This program connects parents who have Apple Health to a local dentist. The program also performs outreach to dentists to enroll them in the program to be able to accept new patients and increase dental care/access in Snohomish County.

This agreement (Exhibit A) was originally signed in 2018 and provided $43,000 per year from 2018 – 2021. With the latest contract extension (Exhibit B), HCA is increasing the annual amount by $2,074 for expansion of work, and $32,288 for outreach work for children of color and children ages 0-2, for a total of $77,362 from July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022. The total amount of the contract is $206,362.

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health retains contract authority for new, extending, or renewing grants or contracts over $50,000 or that require matching funds.
