The Prevention Services Division supports a wide range of outreach, disease investigation, and treatment management activities that promote the prevention and management of STDs and HIV in Snohomish County. During the past six months, the division has added two additional disease intervention specialists to address expanding caseloads and increasing incidence of syphilis as well as a designated supervisor for the program. We propose adding a program specialist II position to support the growing STD and HIV team and better serve our clients and community. This position would improve and streamline administrative processes as well as create additional capacity for our DIS to manage caseloads and return to field work. Examples of work a program specialist II would support include:
- Data entry and maintenance of medical records
- Inventory and medication rotation/ordering
- Office coverage and client customer service
- Billing reconciliation
- EMR support
The approximate cost for a program specialist II is $47,568 - $63,744 plus benefits (an assumption of 30%).
The funding for this position would come from Foundational Public Health funds and would support the area of reinforcing capacity.
