Background

Description

In August 2021 the Health District was awarded the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Surveillance of Blood grant. This grant provided $300,000 in funding for the District to provide outreach to parents who had children diagnosed with high blood lead levels.

The initial budget period for this grant was September 30, 2021, through September 29, 2022.

Examples of work performed under the grant:

  • Case management of children diagnosed with high blood lead levels
  • Improve linkage to care by outreaching to provider community
  • Develop training materials and assessment tools
