Amendment #5 to the consolidated contract with the Washington State Department of Health (SR 22-063; K. Curtis)

Background

As part of the State’s consolidated contract, the Washington State Department of Health has awarded the Health District the following funds:

 

Zoonotic Disease Program – WNV Mosquito Surveillance. Funds in the amount of $1,500 have been added for the contract period of June 1, 2022, through July 31, 2022. Funds in the amount of $1,500 have been added for the contract period of August 1, 2022, through September 30, 2022. These funds are used for mosquito trapping in two locations in the county.

 

Office of Immunizations FSU vaccine hesitancy.  Funds in the amount of $42,840 have been added for the contract period of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. These funds allow the District to conduct outreach to community members from the former Soviet Union to encourage vaccination and provide education and support.  

 

ELC COVID-19 Response. Funds in the amount of $684,694 have been added to the contract for the period of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022. These funds were added at the request of the District to continue a small team of Disease Intervention Specialist to support our schools, childcare providers, and long-term care facilities.  

 

Office of Immunization COVID-19 Vaccine. Funds in the amount of $5,000 have been added to the contract for the period of January 1, 2022, through June 30, 2024. The total amount under this contract is $4,935,556 and allows for the District to conduct COVID vaccine depot work, educate the community, and support community providers.

 

OI – Promotion of Immunizations to Improve Vaccination Rates.  Funds in the amount of $45,150 have been added to the contract for the period of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. These funds are used to increase vaccination rates in the county and educate community members and providers on the importance of routine/annual vaccines.

 

COVID-19 Mass Vaccination – FEMA. This amendment extends the funding period through September 30, 2022. This can be used for the District’s COVID-vaccination efforts.

 
Board Authority

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget.

 
Recommended Motion

MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to execute amendment #5 to the consolidated contract with the Washington State Department of Health.
