Division:
Prevention Services / Katie Curtis, Division Director
Prior Board Review:
Policy Committee, 10/20/22; Administration Committee, 10/26/22; Executive Committee, 10/27/22

Background

COVID-19 Mass Vaccination – FEMA.  On September 8, 2022, Governor Jay Inslee announced the upcoming rescission of all remaining COVID-19 emergency proclamations and state of emergency by October 31, 2022. As a result, the funding period for FEMA COVID-19 mass-vaccination reimbursable activities must also be revised to coincide with that date. This amendment #8 to the consolidated contract with the Washington State Department of Health adjusts the funding period and will be the ending of activities that Local Health Jurisdictions (LHJs) are able to get fully reimbursed by FEMA for mass-vaccination efforts.

The second item listed is Mass Vaccination CATZ which will run from July 2, 2022, through June 30, 2023. This funding is for documentation needs to close out mass-vaccination efforts. LHJs would be reimbursed for eligible expenses.

Board Authority

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget.

Recommended Motion
