Authorize the Administrative Officer to sign amendment #9 to the consolidated contract with the Washington State Department of Health (SR 22-109; K. Curtis)

Background

As part of the State’s consolidated contract, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has awarded the Health District the following funds:

 

COVID-19 Refugee and Immigrant Community Health. Funds in the amount of $200,000 have been added for the contract period of January 1, 2022, through May 31, 2024. These funds support a 1.0 Community Health Worker to increase vaccination rates among refugee and immigrant communities.

 

Executive Office of Resiliency and Health Security. This amendment updates the name of the office at DOH and updates the deliverable. This contract amendment does not change our current allocation of $681,471.

 

Healthcare-Associated Infections & Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI&AR). Funds in the amount of $100,118 have been added to the contract for the period of September 1, 2022, through July 31, 2024. These funds will be used to increase collaboration with our healthcare partners to reduce healthcare-associated infections.   

 

Office of Immunization Regional Representatives. This amendment updates one task within the contract. This amendment does not change our current allocation of $74,468.

 

Tuberculosis (TB) Program. Funds in the amount of $138,991 have been added to our contract. These funds support our overall TB efforts and this year include funding specifically to address the needs of incoming Ukrainian refugees. This includes ensuring they receive TB screening and treatment if indicated.

 
Board Authority

Consistent with Resolution 19-20 and the revised Division of Responsibilities (10/8/19), the Board of Health has authority over the Health District budget.

 
Recommended Motion

MOVE TO authorize the Administrative Officer to sign amendment #9 to the consolidated contract with the Washington State Department of Health.
