One of the first orders of business is for the Board of Health to elect a Chair and Vice Chair. Section 2.300.090 of the Snohomish County Code states: "The Board will elect a chair and a vice chair by a majority of the voting members in January of each year. The chair shall preside at the meetings of the board of health and shall perform the usual functions of a presiding officer."

Further revisions to that section of code are currently be considered that would require the Board Chair and Vice Chair to both be members that are also serving on the Snohomish County Council. 

The floor will be opened to Board members to place a nomination for their nominee or nominees for Board Chair, then Vice Chair. Election of Chair and Vice Chair will be made by roll-call vote of the full Board.
