This briefing provides an update to the Board of Health on the Health Department’s 2025-2026 biennial budget. As submitted to the County Executive, the Health Department’s budget includes a total operating expenditure/appropriation level of $35.8M in 2025 and $33.4M in 2026 and a total 194.05 regular and project FTEs. This remains close to the 2024 adopted budget at $35.9M and 197.05 FTE with a few project roles ending in the 25-26 biennium and some grant funding expiring.

• Savvy Septic sustainability
• Vaccine accessibility

The Executive Recommended Budget was presented to County Council on September 4, 2024, for deliberation, public hearings, and eventual adoption in November.
