Background

At the request of Councilmember Jared Mead, the Department is submitting Ordinance BOH24-05 for Board of Health action.

The ordinance has changed since the Board was last briefed on this topic. Formerly, the ordinance created a food business support period that was activated once the oldest application in the plan review queue reached 20 weeks. The ordinance has been edited to remove references of a support period and instead the incentive credit will be offered to any mobile food unit in good standing who has obtained a temporary permit to operate while they have waited for plan review longer than 84 days (12 weeks).
