At the February 27 Executive Committee meeting, staff proposed hosting an open house to celebrate three upcoming events: National Public Health Week, Health Champions Awards, and the Health District’s 60th Anniversary.
The event will be Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor (atrium and auditorium). It will include light refreshments, the awards ceremony, and an open house/resource fair with tables highlighting the great work that public health does in Snohomish County. This will be open to the public, and Board of Health and SHD employees—current and former—are invited to attend and bring their families.
During last year’s Health Champions Awards, former Board of Health member Donna Wright was recognized as the first recipient of the Elected Official Champion Award. In her honor, the award was officially renamed the Donna Wright Champion for Public Health Award. The Executive Committee asked staff to provide recommended criteria for future recipients of this award, as well as a proposed recipient for the 2018 award.
